The Total Tragedy of a Girl named Hamlet, is 285 page book by Erin Dionne is filled with embarrassment, drama, confusion, and lots of Shakespeare. The main protagonist is 8th grader, Hamlet who deals with a 7 year old ready-for-college sister, a pair of mean girls, emarrassing parents, a failing grade in pre-algerbra, unwanted "talent", and boys. Hamlet's sister Desdemona(dezzie) goes to school with her and ruins her life by becoming friends with Hamlet's "enemies". Saber and Mauri, the main antagonists. Saber and Mauri pretend to be Dezzie's friend so they can pass English.Also, to add to all her other problems, Hamlet keeps finding origami pigs in her locker from her secret admirer. Does Dezzie realize Saber and Mauri are just using her for her intelligence? Will Hamlet's parents ever be normal?
