"Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!"
Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, is 235 pages filled with conflict. A large group of British schoolboys are stranded on a deserted island with no adults and rules that are not followed. The main characters are Ralph, the chief, Piggy, and Jack. Ralph becomes leader, Jack doesn't like his rules, and leaves him, Piggy, and the two littluns, Sam and Eric, to survive by themselves while he and all the hunters kill pigs to eat, this all happens at the end of the book. Throughout a good part of the book the hunters search for the beast. When I started reading this book a question kept going through my mind, "Why is it called Lord of the Flies?", it is called this because the head of the first pig they killed was cut off and put on a stick and they idolized it, flies eat the pig head, thus, Lord of the Flies. Do the schoolboys ever get off the island? Or will they end up killing each other trying? Read this fantastic book and find out for yourself. I reccomend it to everyone!
