
Dragon Road, a novel by Laurence Yep, is 320 pages all about basketball and the journey of two. Calvin and his friend Barney, who live in Chinatown, San Francisco, dont have mauch money. Since they can't get real jobs and are great basketball players they decide to play on the street for money. At the end of one of Calvins and Barney's games a coach and a manager, Topper and Jack, show up and offer them a spot on their traveling basketball team. They agree and go on to play against other basketball players who dont get scammed for money. At the end of their adventure Jack leaves because he doesn't want to put up with that team anymore, but Topper decides to stay with his team for another year. In the end, since Calvins father waqs always drunk and never seemed to care for Calvin, CAlvin realizes that his father loves him in his own special way when he saw the scrapbook that his father made.
