Milkweed

Milkweed, by Jerry Spinelli, is 208 pages full of sorrow, heartbreak, and the struggle to survive the ghetto. Misha, the main protaginest gets in to the ghetto with his friend Janina (his "sister"). He and Janina sneak out to steal food but they fit through a two brick wide hole in the wall surrounding the ghetto! They never get caught but if they did they wouldn't see the concentration camps. Eventually there to many jews and not enough room so, being warned Misha tries to run away while bringing Janina who wants her "tata"(father). She ends up on the train and he ends up walkind the tracks, being stuck at farms to work as a slave andgetting jobs on a pier and at street corners. He gets married than divorced with a child. I would recommend this book to people who are mature and understand what a ghetto is.

Are you there God? Its me Margaret

Are you there God? Its me Margaret, by Judy Blume, is 149 pages filled with friends, maturity, and looking for just the right religion. The main protaginest is of course Margaret who would like her body to mature faster than it alreadyy is. She also wants to be a Christian, but would also like to be Jewish. Throughout the book she is visiting churches trying to figure out if she would like to become a Christian or a Jew. This is a great book, but I would recommend it for mature people and girls would understand it much more easily than a boy would.
