The Story of My Life

The Story of My Life by Helen Keller is 222 pages filled with sadness, excitement, and perseverence. This story is about a little girl who at the age of 2 gets diagnosed with blindness and deafness. She gets spoiled until Miss Sullivan (Helen's teacher) comes and teaches her manners, words, and love. Ever since the day that Miss Sullivan puts Helen's hand under running water and spells W-A-T-E-R, Helen began to learn, not by seeing or hearing, but by touch. Helen Keller was a girl with many different characteristics.

Helen Keller was a girl with different emotions, as well. In the beginning she acted like a spoiled brat. When she first started getting lessons she was a little bratty but not as much as she was when she was younger. While she was in High School she seemed to take it very seriously. When she started college she seemed really overwhelmed.
Helen Keller's disabilities make the story sad but what I like about her is that she didn't let that stop her from living her life.
